Inmaculada Pascual, catedrática de óptica de la Universidad de Alicante e investigadora del IUFACyT, es la nueva presidenta del Comité de Técnicas de la Imagen (CTI) de la Sociedad Española de Óptica. Su elección ha tenido lugar en la Asamblea Ordinaria del CTI celebrada en Castellón el 5 de julio dentro de la XII Reunión Nacional de Óptica. El CTI tiene como objetivo estimular el desarrollo del conocimiento en el ámbito de la ciencia y las tecnologías de la imagen, desde la investigación científica, la enseñanza y las aplicaciones industriales y comerciales, en consonancia con los objetivos generales de la Sociedad Española de Óptica.
Andrés Márquez Ruiz, catedrático de la Universidad de Alicante e investigador del IUFACyT, ha sido nombrado "Senior Member" de la Sociedad Americana de Óptica (The Optical Society of America OSA), en reconocimiento de su trayectoria y logros profesionales en el campo de la óptica y la fotónica. La Junta Directiva de la OSA aprobó a primeros de junio el nombramiento de 168 científicos de todo el mundo como integrantes de esta categoría de miembros, los “Senior”. Para ser incluidos en este grupo, los investigadores deben ser miembros activos de la Sociedad y contar con al menos diez años de experiencia profesional significativa en el campo de la óptica.
Augusto Beléndez, catedrático de física aplicada de la Universidad de Alicante e investigador del IUFACyT, ha participado en los actos del 50 Aniversario de la Sociedad Española de Óptica con la impartición de la conferencia plenaria "Un clásico de la Física: Maxwell y su experiencia vital". Esta celebración ha tenido lugar el viernes 6 de julio en el Paraninfo de la Universitat Jaume I de Castellón, dentro de la XII Reunión Nacional de Óptica. La Sociedad Española de Óptica se constituyó en marzo de 1968. The member of the group GMECA, Miguel Ángel Sánchez Soriano, will assist and will present a scientific work in the international congress International Microwave Symposium (http://www.ims2016.org/), to celebrate in San Francisco (U.S.) of the 22 to 27 May .
